On3 Names UC Offensive Line Coach Nic Cardwell Power Five Rising Star

CINCINNATI — On3's Matt Zenitz revealed 30 rising Power Five coaches from conversations around college football and UC offensive line coach Nic Cardwell made the list.

Cardwell followed Scott Satterfield from Louisville to Cincinnati this past December and has been working his way up the coaching ranks since playing at App State.

“Just a worker,” Cincinnati offensive coordinator Brad Glenn told Zenitz. “He’s so driven. Wants to be really good. Wants to be a great coach. And he was the same way as a player. I was his position coach for a year at App State when he played tight end. And he walked on there, average talent but just was driven to be great and would stop at nothing to be successful. And he’s kind of carried that mentality over from a player to a coach. Just real conscientious about coaching those guys and how he prepares those guys on a daily basis. Relentless recruiter. Just the total package.”

Cardwell's now molding a group with one returning starter as the whole unit keeps gelling ahead of Week 1.
