CINCINNATI — UC Football is one of three remaining undefeated teams in the country, boasting one of the top wins of the entire college football season when they traveled to South Bend and toppled Notre Dame 24-13. You wouldn't believe that happened based on two College Football Playoff projection systems.

Pro Football Focus and ESPN's Playoff Predictor both peg the Fighting Irish with a better chance to make the playoff than Cincinnati.

PFF gives the Fighting Irish a 7% advantage over Cincinnati, while ESPN's is even larger at 14%. Both of these systems are based on prior playoff selection choices and various criteria, but regardless, A one-loss Notre Dame team getting into the dance over an undefeated UC seems like a head-scratcher.

Notre Dame's strength of schedule has a lot to do with the computer model advantage. The Fighting Irish's SOS ranks 38th while Cincinnati's sits at 100th nationwide.

The Bearcats are trying to stay perfect in their final home game of the season this weekend against SMU. Kickoff is at 3:30 p.m. ET and will air on ESPN.
