Scott Satterfield on Nippert Stadium Environment: 'Inspirational' to Cincinnati Players
CINCINNATI — UC head coach Scott Satterfield expanded on his excitement to see what the Bearcat faithful have cooked up for Saturday's sold-out environment at Nippert Stadium.
Cincinnati matches up with FCS school Eastern Kentucky at 3:30 p.m. ET this Saturday.
"It's right on top of you," Satterfield said about the stadium's build. "The opponent hopefully will feel smothered and make it more difficult for them to do things and move the ball offensively. I know our players will feed off of the excitement in the atmosphere. It just is really inspirational to those guys and they'll continue to bring it every play and more than anything you don't want to let the people down that have paid money to come see you play.
"Let's give them a good show and not let those guys down and give them something to cheer about so they will come back again. You don't ever want to take it for granted. So you have to bring that as well. You bring it every play, every game to make it exciting for the fans that are coming watch us play."
Nippert is one of the oldest active stadiums in the country and is slated for a sold-out crowd during a UC game for the 12th-straight contest.
Cincinnati has won 21 home openers in a row and are heavy favorites to topple EKU (97.1% ESPN FPI win probability).
