CINCINNATI — The Big 12 reportedly has a renewed media rights deal with ESPN and FOX. According to The Sports Business Journal, the agreement is reportedly a six-year extension that runs through 2030-31 and is worth north of $2.2 billion.

New commissioner Brett Yormark negotiated a sum that averages $380 million per year. That boils down to $31.2 million in annual payouts to schools for media rights alone.

For context, UC received about $6.94 million per year from the AAC media rights deal. This is all before other revenue sharing ventures get added, which could boost the annual total to around $50 million.

The Big 12 distributed $42.6 million last season without third-tier media rights included. The $31.2 million is up from $28 million on the current deal which ends in 2025.

A big windfall for the Bearcat and the Big 12, plus they got the deal done ahead of the PAC-12.
