Tyler Betsey Excited to Play on Big Stage for Cincinnati: 'It Just Means A Lot'
CINCINNATI — Wes Miller's top recruit in this coming class dove into how excited he is to play on national TV in the Big 12. Four-star 2024 commit Tyler Betsey is having a stellar season for St. Thomas More and is ready to bring that impact to UC.
"Honestly just looking forward to playing a Big 12 schedule, be in primetime basketball," Betsey told Dylan Lutey. "I go home, I watch Kentucky, Kansas, UNC all that, just knowing that that's gonna be me next year playing on TV. Representing my family, representing me. It just means a lot, and I'm excited just to play in big arenas and big games for sure."
The 6-foot-8, 185-pound wing is ranked 37th nationally on 247Sports's Composite Rankings, good for the third-best overall ranking for any Bearcats commit in the site's history (since 2002).
He's put up a litany of impressive outings this season, including 30 points (11-of-19 FGs), seven rebounds, and three assists in a win over Blair Academy this past weekend. He's the exact type of sharp-shooting versatile wing that can push Cincinnati's offense over the top in the coming seasons.
