Charlie Campbell of WalterFootball.com is about as accurate as it gets when it comes to mock drafts. Per his bio, Campbell “Led all NFL media in correct picks for the 2017, 2019, and 2022 NFL Drafts”.

In 2022, he hit on 11 picks in the first round of the NFL Draft.

Campbell released his updated mock draft, and it features surprisingly few Bulldogs. In fact, Campbell has just one Georgia player being selected in the first round of the NFL Draft; Jalen Carter at No. 3 to the Arizona Cardinals.

Carter will undoubtedly be a first round selection, but will he be the only one? That seems unlikely. Kelee Ringo, Broderick Jones, Nolan Smith, and Darnell Washington have all received first round grades from various outlets.

Positions do play a factor in who will be selected. NFL teams value quarterbacks, tackles, edge rushers, wide receivers, and corners in the first round. With that being said, Carter and Ringo seem like likely selections. Nolan Smith may be held back by his lack of production and the pectoral injury that ended his season, but his size and athleticism is first-round worthy.

The NFL Draft is a crapshoot; one player gets selected and a run on his position starts, causing a cascade effect. There is a possibility that Jalen Carter is the only selection from Georgia in the first round, but it seems unlikely. Charlie Campbell, who is a great Draft analyst, was correct on 11 picks last year, but that means he missed 21.
