Former Georgia Tech standout Tre Swilling signed to San Francisco 49ers active roster

According to NFL insider Jordan Schultz, former Georgia Tech cornerback Tre Swilling has been elevated to the San Francisco 49er's active roster.

The 49ers signed Swilling to their practice squad last November and he has been looking for a place to jumpstart his NFL career. It seems the 49ers believe in his talents and it is going to be exciting to watch him grow with one of the NFL's best teams.

Initially, after going undrafted in the 2022 NFL Draft, Swilling has spent time with the Tennessee Titans and the New Orleans Saints.

Swilling was an instant impact player for Georgia Tech after coming to Atlanta as a four-star recruit. He started in 11 games during his true freshman season and played in every game but one. He had 24 tackles, one sack, and an interception in the 2018 season. Swilling was able to start in every game during the 2019 season and was named an All-ACC honorable mention. He had a career-high 10 pass deflections in 2019 as well.

The 49ers kick off the week three slate in the NFL on Thursday night Football tomorrow against the New York Giants.
