Final 2023 NBA Mock Draft Projections For Indiana's Hood-Schifino, Jackson-Davis

The 2023 NBA Draft is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET on Thursday, and analysts have released their final mock drafts. Check out where former Hoosiers Jalen Hood-Schifino and Trayce Jackson-Davis are projected to land.

Indiana teammates Jalen Hood-Schifino and Trayce Jackson-Davis will, in all likelihood, experience life-changing moments on Thursday night during the 2023 NBA Draft.

Coached by Mike Woodson, the duo led Indiana to a 23-12 record and a No. 4 seed in the NCAA Tournament last season, as Jackson-Davis earned first-team All-American honors and Hood-Schifino won Big Ten Freshman of the Year.

They're pursuing professional careers now and eagerly await hearing their names called at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. The draft begins at 8 p.m. ET and can be seen on ABC (first round only) and ESPN (first and second rounds).

Take a look at where various NBA mock drafts project these Hoosiers to go.

Indiana Hoosiers head coach Mike Woodson talks with Indiana Hoosiers forward Trayce Jackson-Davis (23) and guard Jalen Hood-Schifino (1) in the first half against the Michigan State Spartans at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall.

Jalen Hood-Schifino

Hood-Schifino arrived at Indiana as a borderline NBA Draft pick, but most project him as a lottery pick after one season as a Hoosier. Indiana coach Mike Woodson trusted Hood-Schifino to run the offense after an injury to Xavier Johnson, and he made the most of his opportunity. Highlighted by a 35-point effort in a win at Purdue, Hood-Schifino was named Big Ten Freshman of the Year, averaging 13.5 points, 4.1 rebounds and 3.7 assists on 33.3 percent 3-point shooting.

  • Sporting News: No. 13 to Toronto Raptors
    • "I've had Hood-Schifino mocked to the Raptors for a while now, and the fit grew even stronger when Toronto hired Darko Rajakovic, a pick-and-roll savant, as its new head coach. With VanVleet set to hit unrestricted free agency, Hood-Schifino could give the Raptors insurance as a fluid pick-and-roll ball handler and developing scorer to run their offense. Even if VanVleet decides to stick around, Toronto could still use guard depth and a second-unit playmaker with a ton of untapped potential like Hood-Schifino." -Kyle Irving

  • ESPN: No. 13 to Toronto Raptors
    • "The Raptors have a plethora of options at their disposal that could see them end up anywhere on draft night -- higher up in the lottery, with another pick in the mid to late first round -- or possibly out altogether. Picking a shooter such as Dick or Jordan Hawkins, or pairing franchise stalwart Scottie Barnes with a versatile combo guard such as Bufkin, Nick Smith Jr. or Hood-Schifino is believed to be some of their most likely options according to rival teams. However, the amount of activity coming out of the Toronto front office makes it difficult to project what they will do. It's also not clear whether they will be able to meet the financial demands of center Jakob Poeltl in free agency, who prefers not to be in a rebuilding situation next season, sources told ESPN. Bufkin's fit with Barnes due to his experience playing off the ball, defensive tenacity and much-improved shooting has caused many to speculate that the Raptors are the ones who promised Bufkin this pick. -Jonathan Givony
  • The Athletic: No. 10 to Dallas Mavericks
    • "Every mock draft is finding it difficult to predict Dallas’ pick, because it’s probably not going to be Dallas picking. The Mavericks are known to be most interested in trading No. 10 for a ready-now veteran. If Hendricks, Black or Walker falls, I believe Dallas shouldn’t overthink this and take one of them. But Hood-Schifino is a ready-now prospect — at least readier than most players available — who fills roster needs even if No. 10 is awfully high to take him. If Dallas trades down, he might also be a target at, say, No. 15." -Tim Cato
  • CBS Sports: No. 8 to Washington Wizards
    • "Hood-Schifino is a super-talented combo guard who has a more-dependable 3-point shot than what he showed in his one season at Indiana. He could theoretically become the first important piece the Wizards add to the franchise to start a rebuild less than a week after trading Bradley Beal to the Suns." -Gary Parrish
  • The Ringer: No. 15 to Atlanta Hawks
    • "At his best in the pick-and-roll. He plays with great pace, using his screen to get into the middle of the floor, where he can pull up from midrange or dissect the defense with various passes to his rolling big. Good midrange pull-up shooter capable of draining shots off movement. If he’s successful in extending his range behind the NBA line, he could become a drop-coverage killer. Though he’s not a great at-rim finisher yet, he doesn’t shy away from contact. With his size and midrange touch, he has the potential to become a foul magnet. Versatile defender with a muscular frame and great technique. He does a nice job of sliding his feet laterally to stick with his opponent, whether it’s out of an isolation or when fighting over screens. Handsy defender who pokes on the ball, breaks up handoffs, and is capable of racking up deflections off the ball." -Kevin O'Connor
  • NBA.com: No. 14 to New Orleans Pelicans
    • "Jalen Hood-Schifino is earning consideration as high as No. 9 from the Jazz. We’re hearing there has been a significant buildup of buzz on him during workout season, to the point where rival agents don’t anticipate him being on the board outside the lottery." -Jonathan Wasserman

  • Yahoo Sports: No. 13 to Toronto Raptors
    • "Hood-Schifino plays bigger than his 6-6 frame and has a 6-10 wingspan that allows him flexibility to defend the perimeter and alter shots off the dribble. He's one of the best guards in the pick-and-roll and showed confidence in decision-making when games were on the line late in the season. With many talented guards projected in the lottery and mid-first round, Hood-Schifino could play himself into the lottery with strong workouts leading up to the draft." -Krysten Peek

Trayce Jackson-Davis

Jackson-Davis tested the NBA Draft waters after his sophomore and junior seasons at Indiana, but he improved his stock with a tremendous senior campaign. The athletic 6-foot-9 forward was a consensus first-team All-American, averaging 20.9 points, 10.8 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.9 blocks on 58.1 percent shooting. He improved dramatically as a passer, ball-handler and shot-blocker during his senior year, though questions about his jump shot remain.

  • Sporting News: No. 29 to Indiana Pacers
    • "Again, it's unlikely the Pacers keep all five of their draft picks, but if they do hold onto this pick, they should look to add a more experienced player who could enter their rotation immediately. Playing his college basketball right down the road at Indiana, Jackson-Davis would fill a void in the Pacers' frontcourt as a capable small-ball five who can score in the pick-and-roll, provide switchability on defense and add depth as a rim protector." -Kyle Irving

  • The Ringer: No. 30 to Los Angeles Clippers
    • "TJD is a highly athletic lob threat who brings defensive versatility, which could be valuable to a Clippers roster that has largely relied on Ivica Zubac. High-flying lefty center who plays with an edge and intimidates opponents near the rim." -Kevin O'Connor
  • NBA.com: No. 38 to Sacramento Kings
    • "Trayce Jackson-Davis has been shooting jumpers during NBA auditions, something he didn’t do at Indiana. Regardless, he’ll earn consideration for his effectiveness as a post scorer, finisher, passer and rebounder." -Jonathan Wasserman
  • Yahoo Sports: No. 32 to Indiana Pacers
    • "Over his four years at Indiana, Jackson-Davis has improved his handle and showed NBA scouts that he can drive, pass and defend at a high level. He was solid in the pick-and-roll option late in the season alongside Hood-Schifino and he has an easiness to his game that's mixed with good footwork and above average athleticism at the forward position." -Krysten Peek
