Jalen Hood-Schifino Signs Multi-Year Apparel Deal with Adidas

In this story:
Jalen Hood-Schifino must have enjoyed wearing adidas this past year in Bloomington, because on Monday morning the brand announced that it had signed both the No. 17 overall pick out of Indiana and No. 13 overall pick Gradey Dick to multi-year apparel and footwear contracts.
"The 2023 Collection: Chapter 03 is a celebration of the invaluable individuals who stand behind each other – those who not only support but inspire their why. We're excited to officially welcome Gradey Dick and Jalen Hood-Schifino to the adidas basketball family while also paying homage to their village, the unsung heroes who have provided them unwavering support and inspiration throughout their journey," adidas Tweeted.
Hood-Schifino and Dick were both apart of adidas' 2023 NIL class, along with former Hoosier Trayce Jackson-Davis.
While Indiana has long worn adidas on the court, there was no guarantee that Hood-Schifino would stick with the brand in the NBA after being drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers. His high school AAU team,Team Thad, was sponsored by Nike, according to Krysten Peek of Yahoo Sports.
Gradey Dick (Raptors) and Jalen Hood-Schifino (Lakers) have officially signed with adidas and will star in the campaign creative for the 2023 collection. Gradey played for KC Run GMC (Under Armour) while Jalen played for Team Thad (Nike) during AAU HS ball. Good pick up for adida

Additionally, Nike has already signed No. 1 and No. 2 overall picks Victor Wembanyama and Brandon Miller to deals, while PUMA locked up No. 3 overall pick Scoot Henderson, as many apparel brands covet the opportunity to sign first round NBA draft picks to deals for the foreseeable future.
Still, Hood-Schifino stayed loyal to the brand he signed with for his one year in Bloomington, and will now to continue to promote the brand in Los Angeles.
In his one season playing for Indiana under head coach Mike Woodson, Hood-Schifino started all 32 games and averaged 13.5 points per game while shooting 44.9% on two-pointers and 33.3% from three.
The NBA has yet to release its schedule for the 2023-24 seasons, but it is rumored that the opening games will take place on October 24, and given the immense popularity of the Los Angeles Lakers and superstar LeBron James, it's entirely possible that Hood-Schifino makes his NBA debut on that day.
