CHICAGO — As expected, Indiana stars Trayce Jackson-Davis and Jalen Hood-Schifino have been invited to the NBA Draft Combine next week in Chicago. They are part of a list of 76 players who have been invited, though the top projected picks probably won't attend. They event takes place May 15-18.

Jackson-Davis, who graduated from Indiana over the weekend and has had a brilliant four-year career in Bloomington, was invited to the combine last year as well, but when he came down with COVID days before it started and couldn't improve his draft stock, he chose to return to the Hoosiers.

That won't happen this year. Jackson-Davis is staying in the draft this time, and has already hired an agent. He is a projected early second-round pick, but could move up into the first round if the right team gets interested. He is the third all-time leading scorer in Indiana history with 2,256 points and is first all-time in both blocked shots and rebounds. He averaged 20.9 points, 10.8 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.9 blocks per game this season.

Hood-Schifino, who was the Big Ten's Freshman of the Year, is locked into the draft too as a one-and-done player. He is a projected mid-first round pick, rising his draft stock considerably during a fine freshman season, highlighted by a 35-point outing at Purdue when the Hoosiers upset the Boilermakers.

Taking over the point guard duties almost exclusively after the Hoosiers lost Xavier Johnson to a broken foot in mid-December, Hood-Schifino averaged 13.5 points, 4.1 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game.

A total of 11 Big Ten players have been invited to the combine. Here's the list:

  • Kobe Bufkin, Michigan
  • Zach Edey, Purdue
  • Coleman Hawkins, Illinois
  • Jalen Hood-Schifino, Indiana
  • Jett Howard, Michigan
  • Trayce Jackson-Davis, Indiana
  • Seth Lundy, Penn State
  • Kris Murray, Iowa
  • Jalen Pickett, Penn State
  • Brice Sensabaugh, Ohio State
  • Terrence Shannon Jr., Illinois

  3. Matthew Mayer, Illinois
  4. Caleb McConnell, Rutgers
  5. Cliff Omoruyi, Rutgers
