Key Players

Kansas

Holly Kersgieter #13 (G): While she only scored 11 points in the victory over TCU, her 5 steals, including one at the beginning of the run in the 4th quarter to put the game away, thwarted TCU's efforts all day.

Taiyanna Jackson #1 (C): Her 13 points against TCU were outshone by her 17 rebounds (7 offensive) that gave Kansas second chance opportunities at crucial moments. Her ability to provide those same opportunities will be important to securing a victory tonight.

West Virginia

A'Riana Gray #21 (F): While the senior only averages 7.2 points and 3.9 rebounds per game, her 25 points and 8 rebounds against Oklahoma nearly pushed the Mountaineers to an OT victory.

Madisen Smith #30 (G): Stepping up after the season-ending knee injury for Kirsten Deans, Smith has scored 18 points in each of the last two games for the Mountaineers.

Fun Facts

Kersgieter only needs to five 3-point baskets to tie Angel Goodrich for 7th on the all-time makes list for Kansas. Her season high is 5 makes against Baylor on Jan 16th.

Two blocks for Taiyanna Jackson would give her sole possession of 7th place on the single-season rankings, ahead of Chelsea Gardner. She is averaging 2.9 blocks per game, and has only recorded less than 2 blocks in two games this season.

A Kansas win would give the Jayhawks their first four-game winning streak since March 2009. In that streak, they defeated #21 Iowa State at home, Oklahoma State in Stillwater, and Nebraska and #5 Baylor at home.
