The Kansas Jayhawks are on the road tonight with a chance to start conference play 2-0 for the 16th time in the Bill Self era. The Jayhawks narrowly survived in their Big 12 conference opener against the Oklahoma State Cowboys on Saturday, and now they travel to Lubbock to play a Texas Tech Red Raiders team that has given Kansas problems in their home arena.

The Red Raiders are in their second season under head coach Mark Adams. They went 27-10 in his first season after taking over for Chris Beard, meeting Kansas in the Big 12 tournament championship and losing to Duke in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament.
Kansas moved up in both polls this week to come in at #3 this week. Texas Tech is unranked, but receiving votes in the Coaches Poll.
Kansas leads the all-time series 41-7, including a 16-6 record in Lubbock and a 12-4 record in the United Supermarkets Arena. They have won the last two meetings and six of the last seven. The Red Raiders won the games in Lubbock last season and in 2019.
