It is another tune-up for the Kansas Jayhawks before they travel to take on the Kentucky Wildcats in the Champions Classic next week, as the Manhattan Jaspers come to Allen Fieldhouse. Manhattan is coming off of an upset win in the first game of the season, as they went on the road and beat Bryant.
Kansas comes into the season ranked #1 in both the AP Poll and Coaches Poll. They have been in the top 10 of the AP Poll in each of the last 39 polls.
This is the first time that these two teams have met in men's basketball. Kansas is 16-1 against teams that are currently in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC). Their only loss was to Iona.
