In this story:

It's a matchup that has been circled ever since the schedule came out, as the Kansas Jayhawks host the Indiana Hoosiers in Allen Fieldhouse in a battle of the blue bloods. Kansas is looking to build on some momentum from the Missouri win and show that dropping them in the rankings was a baffling decision. But can they win convincingly against another good defense?

The thing I’m not going to do is bet against Kansas at Allen Fieldhouse. Sure, KU has stomped small teams (Texas Southern, Missouri) and struggled with some bigger names (Tennessee, Duke) but none of the big names have come to Lawrence. That changes with Indiana (big name or former big name?) but KU will get it done. I’m looking for Jalen Wilson to shine once again when the spotlight is the brightest.

Kansas 77, Indiana 66.

The Kansas Jayhawks are coming off of an extended break and the last time they had a break similar to this they handled Mizzou easily. I expect Kansas to be the better team in this matchup and I look for Jalen Wilson to continue his incredible season.

Pretty simply, I think this game comes down to how well KU can stifle IU’s Trayce Jackson-Davis. If the Jayhawks can slow down his offensive game, I don’t think the Hoosiers have enough firepower to keep up. However, if K.J. Adams and company can’t figure out a way to contain him, it might be a long game. I will lean with the home team and lean with Kansas to pick up another high-profile win, and I’ll trust that Adams keeps playing high-level basketball along with the usual suspects of Wilson, Dick, etc.

Kansas 76, Indiana 68.

It's a battle of blue bloods, and this matchup couldn't have been scheduled at any better time. Indiana is back to being the program they expected to be. Indiana has a bit more of an inside presence than Kansas has seen recently, but it's fair to say they are still perimeter-oriented. Both teams are great on defense, so I don't expect this to be a high-scoring game unless one team just gets lights out from beyond the arc.

Give me the Jayhawks in a tight one.

Kansas 72, Indiana 69.
