In this story:

The Kansas Jayhawks took their first loss in conference play at the hands of the TCU Horned Frogs Saturday, but overall still showed that they are one of the best teams in the conference. And that was made even more clear by looking around the rest of the conference and seeing some of the other action.

We'll make sure to continue to break down the game this week. But in preparation for an update to our Big 12 Power Rankings from last week, let's run through the results from around the rest of the league.

Texas 49 - Oklahoma 0

There is no longer any doubt about whether these Oklahoma Sooners are any good. Spoiler: they are NOT good. At all.

The Texas Longhorns left no doubt about who the better team was with the return of Quinn Ewers, who passed for 289 yards and 4 touchdowns. Bijan Robinson rushed for 130 yards and 2 touchdowns, and the Longhorns dominated this one from start to finish.

Oklahoma's best offense came on their second drive, where they gained 67 yards in 14 plays, including 2 fourth down conversions. But a decision to go for it on 4th and 2 on the Texas 9-yard line ended with a 1 yard run that turned the ball over. It was one of two times they got inside the Texas 40 on the day, with the other ending with the first of two interceptions thrown by the Sooners.

#7 Oklahoma State 41 - Texas Tech 31

The Texas Tech Red Raiders started out fast in this one, driving 75 yards in just under three minutes to score on their opening drive. And they pulled out all the stops with a surprise onside kick, which they recovered successfully. Unfortunately, Oklahoma State's Demarco Jones called for a fair catch, which by rule negated the Texas Tech recovery and resulted in a short field for Oklahoma State.

From there, it was a back and forth game. Redshirt freshman Behren Morton started at quarterback for the Red Raiders, impressing in his first start with 379 yards and 2 touchdowns to just 1 interception. An injury at the end of the first half severely limited his mobility in the second half though, and Oklahoma State was able to take advantage.

Spencer Sanders finished the game with 297 yards and only 1 passing touchdown, but he ran in two more touchdowns. Oklahoma State kicker Tanner Brown was a perfect 4-4 on field goals, and that was enough for the Cowboys to remain undefeated.

#20 Kansas State 10 - Iowa State 9

This was an ugly defensive game all around, but in the end, Adrian Martinez made one long pass to Phillip Brooks, which was enough to give the Kansas State Wildcats the edge in Ames over the Iowa State Cyclones.

Brooks and Malik Knowles both went over 100 yards receiving for the Wildcats, but there was only one touchdown on the day, scored early in the first quarter.

Xavier Hutchinson totaled 100 yards for the Cyclones, but neither offense was particularly effective. But it's tough to say that either defense played exceptionally well, as playcalling was an issue for much of the night. The two teams combined to punt the ball 12 times.

Iowa State kicker Jace Gilbert, who missed three kicks the week before, was the only Cyclone to score in this game, hitting 3 kicks to briefly give his team the lead in the game.

On Bye: Baylor, West Virginia
