The Jayhawks continue their road trip with a non-conference tilt against a Houston Cougars squad that was ranked in the preseason. But two straight overtime games have resulted in a 1-1 record and a team that is trying to find their identity for this season. Kansas provides both a stiff challenge and an opportunity for a much better win than expected in the preseason.

Today will be the 4th meeting between the Jayhawks and the Cougars. Kansas is 3-0 against Houston, with a 35-13 win in Houston on September 1, 1994. The last meeting between these two teams was a 42-13 win on December 23rd, 2005 in the Fort Worth Bowl.
