The contenders are emerging in the Big 12 - Week 7 Roundup

In this story:
The Kansas Jayhawks took another loss in conference play, this time on the road to the Oklahoma Sooners. And while this game had a big effect on the ability of the Jayhawks to push to the Big 12 title game, there were plenty of other results around the league that had a big impact on the race as well.
We'll make sure to continue to break down the game this week. But in preparation for an update to our Big 12 Power Rankings from last week, let's run through the results from around the rest of the league.
West Virginia 43 - Baylor 40
The Baylor Bears could never create distance from the West Virginia Mountaineers, and repeated mistakes allowed the home team to sneak out of the game with the victory.
The Mountaineers forced 2 fumbles, returning one for a touchdown, and picked off a Kyron Drones pass. Drones was in the game after Blake Shapen took a big hit and left with an injury. Shapen was having a career day, passing for 326 yards and 2 touchdowns before leaving the game.
Gavin Holmes ended the day with 210 yards on just 7 receptions, but it was West Virginia who used a 109-yard game from receiver Kaden Prather and a 163-yard, 2 touchdown game from running back Tony Mathis to get their first win in conference play.
#22 Texas 24 - Iowa State 21
The Big 12 officiating had another controversial moment as they failed to call a targeting penalty on Texas' Anthony Cook for his tackle of Iowa State quarterback Hunter Dekkers, and a call that was initial ruled as Dekkers down prior to the ball coming out "stood" to give the Longhorns the ball.
The Iowa State defense did enough in this game to win, as they stymied the Texas attack throughout the game. But the Iowa State offense was not able to do enough to push the Cyclones over the top in this game.
Quinn Ewers threw for 3 touchdowns on just 172 yards, but Bijan Robinson ran for 135 yards to carry the offense for the Longhorns. The defense did enough for the Longhorns to get out of the game with the victory.
#13 TCU 43 - #8 Oklahoma State 40 (2OT)
The Horned Frogs came back from deficits of 17 in the 2nd quarter and 14 in the 4th quarter to pick up a huge victory in the Big 12 and remain undefeated on the season.
TCU quarterback Max Duggan finished 23-40 for 286 yards and 2 touchdowns, with 11 rushes for 57 yards and another score. He outdueled Oklahoma State quarterback Spencer Sanders, who was 16-36 for 245 yards, 1 touchdown and 1 interception. He also ran for 68 yards and 2 scores.
A quick start by the Cowboys wasn't enough to hold off the Horned Frogs, who tied the game with some unconventional play with just under 2 minutes remaining in regulation. And in the second overtime, a holding penalty turned into a stalled offensive drive, and the field goal wasn't enough to keep TCU from winning the game.
