Kentucky Earns Commitment From 3-Star '24 EDGE Antwan Smith

The Cats add their first defensive piece to the growing 2024 class.

During perhaps one of the biggest recruiting months in the Mark Stoops era, Kentucky football has added its first commit to the 2024 class following the addition of 4-star quarterback Cutter Boley.

On Sunday, Antwan Smith, a 3-star EDGE out of Westlake High School in Atlanta, announced his commitment to UK, choosing the Wildcats over Duke, NC State and Vanderbilt:

Smith is ranked as the No. 669 overall player and No. 44 EDGE in the class, per the On3 Consensus. He took an official visit to Lexington over the weekend and rounded it out with a commitment. He now joins Boley and 3-star offensive linemen Hayes Johnson and Aba Selm in the '24 class.

He also held offers from the likes of Minnesota, UNLV, Boston College, Tulane, Troy, Charlotte and Coastal Carolina. He is also now the first non-in-state commit for Stoops and his staff.

Smith's sport connections run deep, starting with his brother Deon Jackson, who was a running back at Duke from 2017-2020. He ran for 2,267 yards and 18 touchdowns and made it to the NFL, even starting a game for the Indianapolis Colts in 2022. His mom was an All-American doing track and field at Miami, while his dad played basketball at Utah State.

The '24 class is slowly building for the Wildcats.
