He ranked as high as the No. 7 player in the talent-rich state of Georgia, plus the No. 10 cornerback and No. 84 overall prospect in the Class of 2022 according to ESPN.

After losing a handful of pieces, including NFL draftee Kei'Trel Clark, Louisville's cornerback room is building a case for deepest on the team. The Cardinals bring back projected starters in Quincy Riley and Jarvis Brownlee Jr., key reserves in Trey Franklin and Derrick Edwards III, while also welcoming impact transfers Storm Duck and Marquis Groves-Killebrew. They also signed four-star prospect Aaron Williams.

He joins former Rutgers offensive tackle Willie Tyler, former Oregon linebacker Keith Brown, and former North Carolina teammates safety Cam'Ron Kelly and cornerback Storm Duck, former Houston offensive tackle Lance Robinson and former Purdue offensive tackle Eric Miller.

During that span of time, the Cardinals also secured verbal pledges from a quartet of 2024 prospects: offensive tackles Ransom McDermott and Jimmy Williams, wide receiver Shaun Boykins Jr. and tight end Dylan Mesman.

Louisville has been incredibly active in the transfer portal since Jeff Brohm was hired as their head coach in December. While the Cardinals have lost 20 via the portal since the end of the regular season, Washington is now the 20th to transfer in over the offseason.

The Cardinals finished their 2022 season with an overall mark of 8-5 (4-4 in ACC), including a 24-7 win in the Fenway Bowl over Cincinnati. They'll kick off their 2023 season against Georgia Tech in the Chick-Fil-A Kickoff Classic at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Ga. on Friday, Sept. 1.
