LSU Football Wide Receiver Quickly Emerging as Spring Camp Winner Amid Strong Start

In this story:
Lane Kiffin and the LSU Tigers remain in headlines this offseason after assembling an all-time great Transfer Portal Class headlined by nine Top-100 signees.
In what became one of the top portal hauls in recent memory, Kiffin and Co. secured the No. 1 quarterback, No. 1 offensive lineman, and No. 1 edge rusher amid a historic stretch.
"I think talent-wise, probably is. A lot of that too is also the numbers," Kiffin said when asked if it was the best portal class ever. The volume helps when I make that statement. I think, over time, in general, volume's gone up because as the system evolved.
"It's really created a system that makes players go in and like I said in the beginning, when it was first created, at least now there's only one window. You basically had created a system that was two times a year as a player, so I don't blame them."
LSU is navigating Week 2 of Spring Camp in Baton Rouge, and while it remains early in offseason practice, a WR1 could be emerging for the Tigers.
Kansas State Wildcats transfer Jayce Brown is turning heads while generating significant buzz across amid a hot start to camp.

The media has watched about 25-30 minutes each day.
There's plenty unknowns, but there's also clear standouts: like Kansas State WR Jayce Brown.

Brown inked a deal with the LSU Tigers as a Top-100 player in this year's portal cycle where he received significant interest from the likes of the Ole Miss Rebels, Georgia Bulldogs, Auburn Tigers, Kentucky Wildcats, and Louisville Cardinals.
The 6-foot, 180-pounder out of the Sunshine State is fresh off of a junior campaign in 2025 where he logged 712 receiving yards on 41 receptions with five touchdowns for Kansas State.
Across three seasons with the Wildcats, Brown compiled nearly 2,000 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns on over 100 catches.
Now, he's already generating significant buzz as a standout pass-catcher for the LSU Tigers alongside the likes of Hawaii transfer Jackson Harris and Ole Miss transfer Winnie Watkins across the first few days of Spring Camp.

LSU added nine wide receivers via the NCAA Transfer Portal this offseason with Brown - among others - looking to separate from the pack.
