Miami's Fall Camp Proves That The Best is Yet to be Seen From Star Transfer Receiver

CORAL GABLES, Fla. — Harvard, Duke, and now Miami have had some time with one of the best receivers in the country.

However, Cooper Barkate is still getting used to the 'hotter' Miami weather as the Hurricanes enter their second week of Fall Camp. Moreover, that heat has turned him into a better player with my goal and mindset.

"Play my best and win," Barkate said about what he wants his season to look like during Monday's Fall Camp practice.

Barkate has been silky smooth, like his nickname "Spiderman," all camp and during the offseason when he was getting work done.

Moreover, the competition in the Hurricanes' wide receiver room has made him better and also proves why he came to Miami.

"Yeah, it's everything," Barkate said on the competition in the receiver room. "I mean, it's really why I came here, because I wanted to sharpen my game and not only having the DBs to go against, but you know, you got someone right behind you coming for your spot, so I love it here."

Furthermore, that room is what makes Miami a difference-maker not only in the conference, but in the country.

Barkate's battles with the secondary continues to shine as some of the best times during Fall Camp. It sets both groups apart from the rest, highlighting the culture that has be built and culpavated.

"Definitely sets it apart because of the competitiveness that we have," Barkate said. "We got a lot of depth, so every day we're kind of just feeding off each other. trying to make plays. But I'd say the culture's a great culture. I think everyone respects each other and loves each other, and culture Beard does a great job of doing that."

72 receptions, over 1000 yards, and seven touchdowns pushed the senior star to that level. Still, even with all the hype, the 6-foot-1 receiver has areas in his game that he has been improving.

"I say my physicality, it downfield and also in the run game, and these spots in my game to work on that," Barkate said.

Nevertheless, if you asked the star player what he thinks his best is, he knows that this season could push him to that next level as a prized NFL Draft pick. Barkate stays optimistic about his chances and what this season can be.

"You'll see," Barkate said.
