PFF Graded Mallory As One Of The Best Players in Mobile This Past Week

In this story:

Miami has a long history of talented tight ends that have seen success in the NFL. Greg Olsen, Jimmy Graham, Kellen Winslow Jr, Jeremy Shockey and most recently David Njoku are names to note. After a strong week in Mobile for the Senior Bowl, Will Mallory may be on his way to join that list.

Out of the seven tight ends in Mobile, Mallory finished as the highest graded of the group. Overall as a player, he was the sixth best performer in the game according to Pro Football Focus.

In terms of Mallory's draft stock, he will most certainly get more looks from NFL teams and still has more times to shine ahead. Mallory received an invite to participate in the annual NFL Combine in Indianapolis later next month. Furthermore, he will still have his Miami Pro Day, where he'll compete alongside his fellow draft hopefuls in the coming months.

It's no surprise Mallory has a great senior bowl, as he spent the last two seasons as Miami's No. 1 tight end option in putting up 885 yards and 7 touchdowns in that period. Before that, he was behind Brevin Jordan, who was selected to the Houston Texans in the 5th round of the 2021 NFL Draft.

According to draft analyst Mel Kiper Jr., Mallory sits at No. 10 in the tight end rankings ahead of April's draft. However, an updated big board could see Mallory rise the ranks, especially since he outperformed Kiper's No. 2 tight end Luke Musgrave out of Oregon State.

Until April, it is unclear where Mallory will end up but surely he will hear his name called and join the Canes alum at the next level.
