Vanderbilt star Jack Leiter went straight from Omaha to dominating minor-league hitters after being drafted number two overall by the Texas Rangers.

The six-foot-one and 205-pound righty is now in Double-A pitching for Rangers affiliate Frisco Roughriders. Where last night, he set a new career-high ten strikeouts.

Leiter is turning heads with his performance this month. He has made three starts this month and has racked up 25 strikeouts, leading all of Double-A. If you ask any SEC baseball fan, this is familiar to them.

Considering he was tied with his teammate Kumar Rocker for the most strikeouts in Division 1 with 179 his last year at Vandy. His last college start came against Mississippi State in game 1 of the National Championship series.

He pitched six innings in that game and only gave up two runs on eight strikeouts. MSU would go on to the series in three games.

Leiter is currently the number four ranked prospect for the Rangers and is on the fast track to the big leagues.
