Around the SEC: LSU Wins Men's College World Series

The LSU Tigers defeated the Florida Gators to win the 2023 Men's College World Series Finals on Monday.

Game 1 of the series was a tight and electric contest, with the Tigers getting the 4-3 win after a home run from Cade Beloso in the 11th inning.

Game 2 was a blowout as the Gators bounced back and swung the momentum back in their favor. Florida's 24-4 victory set the MCWS record for most runs scored in a single gam.e

Game 3 had an opposite outcome. LSU took early command of the game and did not let go of the lead, winning the game 18-4 and adding another Nchampionship to its banner.

This is the program's seventh baseball national championship and its first since 2009. The title moves them into second place with the most finals wins, behind only USC.

Now that its three-year probation ends on Sept. 21, LSU looks to continue its winning ways. The Tigers won the Women's Basketball National Championship earlier this year and were competitive in most other sports. With a big college football season looming, LSU continues to grow back into an all-around SEC powerhouse.
