Mississippi State baseball student-athlete Lane Forsythe has committed to Oklahoma State ahead of his senior season.

Forsythe announced his commitment on his personal Twitter account. He entered the transfer portal on May 30 after seeing limited playing time over the final few weeks of the 2023 season.

The shortstop was a key member of the Bulldogs' 2021 National Championship Team, finishing the year with a .231 batting average and posting a perfect fielding percentage in the postseason. Forsythe earned a spot on the 2021 College World Series All-Tournament Team as a rookie.

Forsythe started 36 games for MSU in 2022 and recorded a .273 batting average with 30 hits and 12 RBI. He also made three appearances as a relief pitcher due to the Bulldogs' many injuries in the bullpen and finished with a 23.14 ERA.

In 2023, Forsythe started nearly every game until the end of April. He struggled more defensively than in years past, picking up 15 errors with a fielding percentage of .884 percent. On offense, Forsythe had 27 hits and was walked 26 times.
