Mississippi State Baseball Destroys LSU 10-4

Mississippi State gets their first SEC win over second ranked LSU.

STARKVILLE, Miss. — The Mississippi State Bulldogs get their first win of conference play with a 10-4 victory over LSU. The Bulldogs came out with a lot of energy, and the crowd at Dudy Noble Field matched it.

Freshman pitcher Nolan Stevens relieved MSU starter Evan Siary, who gave up three runs in three innings of work, and the freshman dazzled. Stevens threw 5.2 innings, stuck out eight, and allowed only a run.

Another good sign for MSU was the play of Hunter Hines. Hines busted out of his slump as he hit two home runs and drove in four runs.

This was a tremendous win for MSU, and they are back in action tomorrow at 4 p.m. CT on SEC Network.

LSU will bring in Gavin Guidry to pitch.

Last time out, Bulldogs: Mississippi State won their previous matchup 2-1 over New Orleans. The Bulldog offense struggled in this game, but a walk-off hit in the 11th by Aaron Downs was enough to win.
