Three Diamond Dawgs Enter Transfer Portal

Mississippi State baseball is expected to be active in the portal in the next few weeks, so naturally, the Bulldogs will lose a few players of their own.
Lane Forsythe, Graham Yntemna and Bryce Hubbard are the first three entries.
Forsythe, a Humboldt, Tennessee, native, is perhaps the most well-known of the trio. He started at shortstop on the National Championship team back in 2021. Forsythe was named to the 2021 College World Series All-Tournament Team. He was known for his stellar arm over at short, but he struggled at the plate for most of his career. This year Forsythe was batting .248 -- just above his career average of .247 -- but freshman Davis Merson replaced him after he committed 15 errors defensively.
Graham Yntemna, from Lilburn, Georgia, came to MSU after two solid years at Lawson State CC. However, the lefty struggled in his one year in Starkville after he posted a 10.55 ERA over 13 appearances.
Bryce Hubbard, another Georgia native from Norcross, entered his name into the portal. The true freshman catcher saw action in only three games this year.

Jacob Bain first joined Cowbell Corner as an intern, and was promoted to lead day-to-day coverage in Starkville of Mississippi State sports in 2023. His primary beats include football, baseball and basketball. He's originally from Fulton, Miss.
