Remember a couple weeks ago when the Husker football program got the bad news? Husker QB recruit Dylan Raiola made his decision to play football for the Bulldogs instead of the Corndogs. Painful. Yes. End of the world? No way, Wade.

A couple of days later the pain eased. Why? Bellevue (NE) West quarterback Danny Kaelin decommitted from Missouri and committed to the Huskers. Danny isn't just your run-of-the-mill quarterback. He is one of the premier high school QBs in the nation. In fact, Danny was invited to the Elite 11 Quarterback Academy where he was recently named one of the Top 11 high school QBs in the entire country.

Great addition for Nebraska.

Lordy, Lordy, the Huskers Just Got Jordy!

But wait, the Huskers may have received even better news. Last week Jordy Bahl who hails from Papillion, Nebraska announced she was transferring from the Oklahoma Sooners to play softball for the Cornhuskers. So what's so special about Bahl you ask?

Her two-year career as the ace of Oklahoma's pitching staff includes these mind-boggling stats: 44-2 record, 1.00 ERA, 397 strikeouts over 288.2 innings. During that time, OU went 59-3 (2022) and 61-1 (2023) with two national championships.

Getting Bahl on the Husker pitching staff will likely put Nebraska not only in line for conference championships but national championships as well.

Jordy Bahl is that good.

Husker head softball coach Rhonda Revelle might want to buy some lottery tickets soon.

Bolt Gets a Lightning Bolt

The Huskers' good luck didn't end with the Jordy news. Rob Childress, who served the past two years as director of player development for the Husker baseball program was hired last week as the new Husker pitching coach. Childress had the same role in 2005-the last time the Huskers were in the College World Series. While he was the NU pitching coach, one of his players was Will Bolt.

Childress is a big-time hire and should have an immediate impact on the Husker baseball program.

Another Blue-Chip Assistant?

Just when you think news couldn't get any better for Nebraska sports, up pops former Husker volleyball great Jordan Larson. She will join head coach John Cook's staff later this summer after she finishes playing for the U.S. National volleyball team. Larson is one of the greatest volleyball players ever to play the game. Do you think her being on Cook's staff might help recruit more top-notch players?
