Notre Dame 2023 Pro Day Results

Analysis of the Notre Dame 2023 Pro Day results

Notre Dame held its Pro Day inside the Irish Athletics Center. It was the last chance for former Notre Dame players to make an impressive for NFL decision makers.

Here's a look at the results for the Irish players, and the one non-Notre Dame player. We'll begin with measurements and the bench press.

ND Pro Day 1

Some notables:

*** Defensive tackle Jayson Ademilola was a bit light at 280 pounds, but he showed good arm length and an impressive wing span. His 25 reps on the bench press was also solid.

*** Linebacker Bo Bauer could not do any of the movement drills, but his size was good and he had an impressive 30 reps on the bench. Bauer's arm length was average.

*** Cornerback TaRiq Bracy had good length for a 5-10 cornerback.

*** Defensive end Isaiah Foskey had impressive measurables. He was 6-5 and 263 pounds with big hands and outstanding length numbers.

*** Defensive tackle Chris Smith was short but weighed in at a sturdy 302 pounds. His length isn't ideal, but his 37 reps on the bench were tremendous. Only one player at the NFL Scouting Combine had more than his 37 reps at any position.

ND Pro Day 2

Some notables:

*** Defensive linemen Jayson Ademilola and Justin Ademilola had up and down testing numbers. They had good 10-yard split numbers, but their overall 40-yard times were disappointing at their weights. Jayson had a good 20-yard shuttle time, one that would have ranked 2nd at the NFL Scouting Combine among defensive tackles. Justin's shuttle would have tied for 2nd worst at the Combine. His 3-cone would have been equally disappointing. Jayson's 3-cone number was middle of the road for the Combine.

*** Cornerback TaRiq Bracy's 40-yard dash time was disappointing. He regularly tested in the 4.4 range at Notre Dame but topped out at a 4.54 today. His shuttle time would have ranked 2nd at the NFL Scouting Combine. His 38 1/2" vertical jump was Top 10 among all cornerbacks.

*** Wide receiver Avery Davis is still getting back to full speed and he didn't run any routes during the workout. His 40-time was just okay but his shuttle time (4.23) would have ranked 6th among wideouts at the NFL Scouting Combine.

*** Safety Brandon Joseph had a mediocre vertical jump and 40-yard dash time, but his 20-yard shuttle time (4.09) was a vast improvement over his time at the Combine (4.23). Only three safeties tested in that drill at this year's Combine, but in 2022 it would have been the second best among all safeties. His impressive 6.8 in the 3-cone drill would have been 4th and was also an improvement over his Combine time of 7.08.

*** Tight end Michael Mayer had a 4.31 in the shuttle, which is solid, but his 6.97 in the 3-cone drill is quite good for his size. It would have been 3rd at this year's Combine but was better than any tight end at the 2022 NFL Scouting Combine.

OTHER NOTES

*** Quarterback Sam Hartman threw during the workouts to Mayer, Jafar Armstrong and Dante Hendrix. I had Hartman at a perfect 21-21 in attempts from the 40-yard line or deeper. His ball placement was good and his deep throws were a thing of beauty. He was good throwing the back line throws and pivot routes in the end zone. He and Mayer missed on a few back shoulder connections in the red zone area as well.
