Irish Breakdown talks Notre Dame football and more heading into Memorial Day weekend

College football writer Stewart Mandel of The Athletic was asked to make a bold and gutsy prediction for each Power Five conference this season. For his ACC prediction he said NC State quarterback Brennan Armstrong will “light up Notre Dame” in the Sept. 9 matchup in Raleigh, NC. For the Big 10 he said Maryland will upset either Penn State, Ohio State or Michigan this season. Which of those bold predictions has the better chance to actually happen?

* We found out this week that Notre Dame and Navy will kickoff at 2:30 Eastern Time which is 7:30 pm in Ireland where the game is being played. That means the team’s flight home won’t leave Ireland until sometime after midnight and the Irish don’t have a bye the next week because they’re hosting Tennessee State.
