Breaking Down The Addition Of Gino Guidugli As Notre Dame QB Coach

Notre Dame is expected to announce soon that Gino Guidugli will be the new quarterbacks for the Fighting Irish in 2023. Guidugli was previously hired as the pass game coordinator at Wisconsin, but now he will transition into South Bend.

In our most recent show we broke down what Guidugli adds to the Notre Dame coaching staff from a coaching and recruiting standpoint.

Guidugli spent the 2022 season as the quarterbacks coach and offensive coordinator at Cincinnati. He spent the 2020-21 seasons as the Bearcats' pass game coordinator and quarterbacks coach. Cincinnati advanced to the College Football Playoff following the 2021 regular season. Guidugli was the Cincinnati quarterbacks coach in 2018-19, and coached running backs in 2017. He spent the 2013-16 seasons as the running backs coach at Central Michigan.

The Kentucky native was a four-year starter for Cincinnati from 2001-04. He finished his career ranked first in school history in completions (880), attempts (1,556), passing yards (11,453), passing touchdowns (78) and total offense (11,661). Cincinnati quarterback Desmond Ridder has since passed Guidugli for the all-time mark in touchdown passes (87) and total offense (12,419). Guidugli was Ridder's quarterbacks coach in all four of his seasons as the starter.
