Notre Dame moved up three spots in this week’s Associated Press College Football Poll. The Fighting Irish (8-3) climbed from No. 20 to No. 17 after Saturday’s 45-7 win over Wake Forest.

Georgia remains No. 1 with 1,549 overall points and 61 first-place votes this week, but there was plenty of movement in the next four spots behind the Bulldogs. Ohio State moved past Michigan to take over the No. 2 spot with 1,447 points and the only other first-place vote. The Wolverines dropped to No. 3 after a 31-24 win at Maryland.

Washington overtook Florida State to move up one spot to No. 4, knocking the fellow unbeaten Seminoles down to No. 5 after quarterback Jordan Travis suffered a leg injury in Saturday’s 58-13 win over North Alabama. Oregon, Texas, Alabama, and Louisville remain in the same spots at No. 6-9. Missouri moved into the top 10 after a 33-31 win over Florida.

Utah plummeted from No. 16 to out of the rankings after a 42-18 to Arizona. North Carolina also dropped out after a 31-20 loss to Clemson.

No. 2 Ohio State is the only opponent on Notre Dame’s schedule that is ranked this week. Two other former Irish opponents, NC State (66) and Clemson (20), received votes this week.
