Notre Dame Moves Up To No. 20 In The Latest AP Poll
Notre Dame (7-3) was off this weekend but the Fighting Irish still moved up in the polls after a wild weekend of college football action. Notre Dame moved up two spots to No. 20 in the latest Associated Press poll.
Notre Dame fell to No. 22 a week ago after it lost to Clemson, giving the Irish their lowest ranking of the season. The Irish will be up two spots in the AP Poll heading into next weekend's game against Wake Forest (4-6).
Notre Dame jumped ahead of Tennessee and Oklahoma State, who both suffered blowout losses this weekend. They also moved ahead of Kansas, who was upset by Texas Tech. Unlike the Coaches Poll, where Notre Dame moved up four spots, the Irish remained behind James Madison (10-0) in the AP Poll. The Irish were also leaped by Arizona, who is also 7-3 after beating Colorado.
Notre Dame beat USC, who then beat Arizona. The Wildcats also have losses to Mississippi State and Washington. What Arizona has is a win over No. 10 Oregon State. What's puzzling is why that didn't already happen, and how beating 4-6 Colorado resulted in them jumping ahead of the Irish.
