Blake Fisher Puts Together A Quality Overall Performance At The NFL Scouting Combine
On Sunday, the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine concluded with the offensive line group. A part of that talented set of players, former Notre Dame offensive tackle Blake Fisher was hoping to impress all the NFL scouts, decision makers and coaches in attendance.
For the most part, it was a good overall day for Fisher. It began with weigh-ins in the morning, followed by athletic testing and positional drills. He is how Fisher fared.
WEIGH-IN RESULTS
One interesting thing that people were keeping a close eye on was what weight Fisher checks in at. Would he be closer to 330 pounds like he was his first two years or the 310 this past season? The latter was the case.
The other big question was what Fisher’s length would be. There were some whispers that he may be very average in that department. It was incredible to see that Fisher actually had a longer arm length and wingspan than Joe Alt, despite being almost three inches shorter.

ATHLETIC TESTING
As an athlete, Fisher looks the part on film. He is definitely much more of a short area explosive player, which he showcased in his ground jump. His testing there was one of the top jumps of the group, just behind Mason McCormick (South Dakota State), Tylan Grable (UCF), Caedan Wallace (Penn State), Dylan McMahon (NC State) and CJ Hanson (Holy Cross). Aside from that, Fisher put together a solid performance, continuing to check boxes.
40-Yard Dash: 5.20 seconds
10-Yard Split: 1.82 seconds
Vertical Jump: 28 inches
Broad Jump: 9 feet, 6 inches
Three Cone: 7.76 seconds
Short Shuttle: 4.73 seconds
His 9'6" broad jump was the 3rd best among all offensive tackles at this year's combine. Fisher's movement numbers weren't as strong. His 3-cone and 20-yard shuttle numbers ranked in the bottom half of offensive linemen at the combine. The same was true of his 1.82 in the 10-yard split of his 40-yard dash.
POSITIONAL DRILLS
In the position drills, it was a little bit of a mixed bag for Fisher. He looked very good on the move, including on the variations of the pulling drills. His issues came in the mirror drills and when he had to shuffle in pass protection. There is just slight tightness for Fisher, particularly in his ankles. Even so, his movement was good enough to potentially warrant a chance at offensive tackle on the next level. Where teams see him positionally will be interesting to follow.
