Notre Dame Stays At No. 9 In The Latest AP Poll

In this story:
Notre Dame remained unbeaten with a 41-17 victory over Central Michigan, which kept the Fighting Irish in place in the latest Associated Press Poll. Notre Dame remained No. 9 in the latest rankings. The entire Top 10 remained the same as far as teams go, although Texas leaped Florida State into the No. 3 spot.
Notre Dame is now a consensus Top 10 team after its win over CMU, with both the AP and Coaches Poll now ranking the Irish No. 9. The Coaches Poll moved Notre Dame ahead of Alabama and Tennessee this week, but the AP Poll leaped Notre Dame over those teams last weekend.
Although Notre Dame remained No. 9, it did add more points to its current ranking. Last week Notre Dame had just 1015 points, but this week it has 1066 points in the rankings. Notre Dame began the season ranked No. 13 in the AP Preseason Poll, but they moved up three spots to No. 10 after winning its first two games. Notre Dame moved up again to the No. 9 spot after last week's victory over NC State.
Notre Dame squares off against No. 6 Ohio State next weekend, with the Buckeyes also remaining in place after its 63-10 win over Western Kentucky. The Buckeyes began the season at No. 3 in the AP Poll but fell to No. 5 after a sloppy season-opening win over Indiana, and one more spot after a not very impressive win over Youngstown State. The Buckeyes did, however, get back on track with an impressive win over a good WKU squad.
