Another All-America list is released, which means another first-team All-America honor for Notre Dame stars Joe Alt and Xavier Watts. The latest is from the Associated Press, which named Alt a first-team offensive lineman and Watts a first-team defensive back.

The Associated Press is the third All-American list that impacts the unanimous and consensus All-American selections. The other two were the Football Writers Association of America and Walter Camp. The two that remain are Sporting News and American Football Coaches Association.

Both Alt and Watts have now been named first-team All-Americans by all three outlets that have thus far released their All-American teams, which means both have an opportunity to still earn unanimous honors. With both earning first-team placement on three of the five lists it means both have now at minimum earned consensus All-American honors once those lists are released.

Alt has now earned first-team honors from AP, FWAA, Walter Camp, The Athletic, CBS Sports, USA TODAY Sports and Pro Football Focus.

Watts has now earned first-team honors from AP, FWAA, Walter Camp, The Athletic, CBS Sports and USA TODAY Sports.

While the line around him played up and down most of the season, Alt remained a steady force on the left side of the line and continued playing dominant football. He was not only a stellar pass blocker, Alt also developed into a strong run blocker, making him an all-around dominant player.

Watts had a breakout season for Notre Dame and was a key figure on one of the nation's best defenses. Notre Dame finished the in the Top 10 nationally in scoring defense, total defense and yards allowed per play. Notre Dame also ranked 4th nationally in pass defense, second in lowest completion percentage allowed, and it led the nation in passer rating. The Irish also ranked 14th in turnovers gained, and Watts was a key reason for all of that.
