Notre Dame Makes Top 7 For Wide Receiver Micah Gilbert

In this story:
Notre Dame is competing hard for a number of the nation's top pass catchers and the Fighting Irish have mad the list of final seven schools for one of those targets, Charlotte (N.C.) Christian wide receiver Micah Gilbert.
Notre Dame made the final list for Gilbert along with Michigan, North Carolina, South Carolina, Duke, Virginia Tech and Pittsburgh.

The 6-2, 200-pound pass catcher is expected to visit Notre Dame in the near future and is one of a handful of talented receivers the Irish staff is still making a push for.
Notre Dame is hoping to land a second straight big time group of wide receivers. Fighting Irish receivers coach Chansi Stuckey already has one of the nation's best pass catchers in the class by landing Glen Ellyn (Ill.) Glenbard South star Cam Williams.
Moving forward the Irish staff would like to land at least two more wideouts in the class, and the list of players the staff is pushing for is small. Notre Dame is focusing on top talents, and Gilbert certainly fits that bill.
Gilbert has racked up 79 catches for 1,020 yards and 10 touchdowns the last two seasons. He's a physical wideout with good route running skills and enough speed to give teams problems. Gilbert has the tools to thrive as a boundary receiver in the Irish offense.
The Charlotte Christian standout is ranked as the nation's No. 199 overall player and No. 30 wide receiver according to 247Sports. He has already earned offers from Notre Dame and his other six finalists, as well as Tennessee, Penn State, Louisville, Missouri, Maryland, Cincinnati, Virginia, Wake Forest, West Virginia, BYU and Georgia Tech.
