2025 Defensive End Charlie Woleben Set For First Notre Dame Visit

In this story:
There are several talented recruits heading to South Bend this weekend when Notre Dame takes on the Pitt Panthers. One of the more interesting athletes who will be in attendance is 2025 De Soto (Kan.) High School defensive end Charlie Woleben, who will be making his first trip.
Woleben has been heating up from a recruiting perspective, attracting the attention of several notable programs. The talented defender is set for what he hopes will be a great visit.
"I’ve never been to Notre Dame but heard it is an amazing campus and environment,” Woleben told Irish Breakdown. "I am looking forward to the experience. My expectations are to learn about Notre Dame football, hopefully get to know the coaches, and get a feeling if the program and campus is a place I could fit. Seeing some of the Notre Dame-USC game on TV, the environment looked crazy. I’m hoping to experience some of that.”
Recently the Irish staff has been making more consistent contact with the Kansas native. They have made a good early impression on him.
"My early impression has been good,” he said. "All my communication has been with the recruiting staff and they have been up-front, professional, and very organized.”
Heading into the trip, Woleben is starting to hear from more and more schools. His film is circulating and leading to a lot more opportunities.
"Recruiting has been going well,” Woleben explained. "I have offers from Nebraska, Kansas, and Iowa State so far. All three schools have given me reasons to be interested. Notre Dame showing interest is exciting. Other schools that have my attention are Minnesota, Duke, Wisconsin, and Kansas State.”
It will be interesting to see where things go between Woleben and Notre Dame. This Will at worst be an early glimpse into the program.
Listed as a three-star recruit and the No. 46 EDGE in the 2025 recruiting class by 247Sports, Woleben has received a flurry of offers so far. Some of his top offers include Nebraska, Iowa State and Kansas. Several other programs have demonstrated interest so far additionally.
The 6-5, 215-pound defensive end has put together a nice season as a junior. In eight regular season games, Woleben has recorded 36 total tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks and 33 quarterback hurries. He has also blocked a field goal and two punts.
