The 2025 quarterback board expanded for Notre Dame in July when an offer was extended Murrieta (Calif.) Valley star Bear Bachmeier. The California native spoke glowingly about the offer from the Irish and his eagerness to get to South Bend soon, an offer that he called “truly special.”

Bachmeier informed Irish Breakdown that he plans to make the trip to Notre Dame for their game against Central Michigan on September 16th. This will be Bachmeier’s second trip to campus, the first coming during a recruiting visit for his older brother Tiger Bachmeier, who signed with Stanford in the 2023 recruiting class.

"I’ve been wanting to make the trip up to campus for awhile now,” Bachmeier said. "I’m excited to get around the coaches and see everyone in action.”

Bachmeier is well thought of from a recruiting ranking perspective. He currently sits as a consensus four-star on every major recruiting platform. On3 currently sees him the highest, pegged as the No.102 overall player and No. 9 quarterback in the 2025 recruiting class.

He has been hearing from a long list of impressive programs. Some of Bear’s top offers thus far include the Fighting Irish, Alabama, Michigan, Oregon, Utah, Colorado, Stanford, Oregon State, Purdue and Washington State among several others.

The 6-2, 205-pound signal caller was a dominant football player as a sophomore. As the team’s starting quarterback, Bachmeier threw for 2,853 yards and 26 touchdowns. He completed an absurd 73 percent of his passes and only threw four interceptions on the season.

As a runner, Bachmeier was equally as dangerous. He rushed for 644 and 18 touchdowns, doing so on just 47 carries. That is an insane 13.7 yards per carry.

Bachmeier comes from a football family. Aside from his brother Tiger, he is also the younger brother of former Boise State, and now Louisiana Tech quarterback, Hank Bachmeier
