Wide Receiver Daylan McCutcheon Is Ready For First Trip To Notre Dame

In this story:
Texas was very good to Notre Dame during the 2023 recruiting cycle, hauling in four talented players from the Lone Star State. The bulk of that impact will be utilized by Chansi Stuckey, signing three talented pass catchers from the state in Jaden Greathouse, Braylon James and Kaleb Smith.
Notre Dame is set to host another notable Texas wide receiver in 2025 Lucas (Texas) Lovejoy standout Daylan McCutcheon, who is visiting for the first time on April 7th. It’s a visit that McCutcheon is very excited for. The staff has done a great job of really making him feel wanted quickly.
“My conversations with Notre Dame have been really good,” McCutcheon said. “It's always welcoming every time I talk to the coaches.
“I’m excited to see the campus and be able to meet the coaching staff in person,” he continued. “We have gotten to get to know one another but connecting in person is a completely different experience. I’m excited.”
McCutcheon has already begun pulling in a series of impressive offers so far. Some of the notable programs who have extended offers include Miami, Oklahoma, Penn State, Oregon, Texas A&M, Tennessee, South Carolina, Arkansas, Ole Miss, Baylor, West Virginia, Purdue and Cal among others.
With so much attention, the Texas native has been busy building relationships with several programs and coaches. While it can be overwhelming at times, he has remained very thankful for all the attention.
“My recruiting is going very good so far,” said McCutcheon. “I’m truly blessed to be in this position.”
When it comes to criteria, McCutcheon knows exactly what he is looking for in a school. That is something that he has thought long and hard about.
“First thing I am going to be in a good academic position and be able to get the degree I want and in order to graduate,” he explained. “Secondly, it has to be a place that truly is a home to me and is a great fit and has good football. I also want it to potentially develop me to play in the NFL.”
The 6-0, 175-pound pass catcher is considered a four-star recruit and currently sits as the No. 96 overall player in the 2025 recruiting class according to Rivals. He is also the No. 118 overall player and No. 19 wide receiver in the class according to On3.
The Texas native has been amidst a lot of school visits this spring. Aside from his trip to Notre Dame on the 7th, he has also recently visited Oklahoma (3/25) and Arkansas (4/1). The day after the Notre Dame trip, McCutcheon will also check out Purdue (4/8). It promises to be a very busy couple of months for the talented pass catcher.
