Notre Dame At The Top For Offensive Tackle Will Black

Over the last two evaluation camps, Notre Dame has extended offers to two separate 2025 offensive lineman. One of them is Wallingford (Conn.) Choate Rosemary Hall offensive tackle Will Black, who is one of the most imposing players on the board right now.

Following that offer, Notre Dame quickly shot up to the top of the list for the Connecticut standout. In fact, they are among the top two schools who are standing out to Black, in large part to the impact the coaches have had in limited opportunity.

"So far I would say Notre Dame and Penn State have been the two schools that have been recruiting me well,” Black told Irish Breakdown. "They have both been showing me that they want me at their school.

"There are some restrictions with contact but when I went to camp at Notre Dame, it was really nice meeting Coach (Joe) Rudolph to see how he coaches and what they have to offer,” he continued. “I have been in touch with him a little here and there and am excited to get to know him more.”

The Irish program has also sold the full scope for what they can provide. It’s something that Black has definitely been receptive to.

"Notre Dame is a school that is definitely at the top of the list because of the high level football as well as the top education,” he explained. “I also really like Coach Rudolph and Coach (Marcus) Freeman as well as the Notre Dame campus and facilities. Their message to me has been that they are very interested in me and that a degree from Notre Dame will set me up for life after football.”

So far Black doesn’t have a ton of campus visits scheduled for the summer. He does, however, have a couple important dates to pay attention to.

"The whole process has been really fun so far,” said Black. "It’s been awesome to be able to see what all these programs have to offer. I can't wait to build more relationships with coaches moving forward. I will be going to Alabama’s camp on July 25th and I’ll be visiting Penn State July 29th. That’s pretty much all I have planned for the summer so far.”

Black is yet another talented member of a dynamite early offensive line board for the Irish. Notre Dame has put themselves in a great position early on.

The 6-7, 295-pound offensive tackle has already garnered interest from several big time programs. Some of Black’s top offers so far include the Fighting Irish, Michigan, Miami, Penn State, Florida State, Texas A&M, Stanford, Maryland, Nebraska, Virginia Tech, Pittsburgh, Syracuse and Rutgers among others.

Choate Rosemary Hall boasted a tremendous offense for the 8-1 squad. As an offense, the team averaged just under 38 points per game, with Black’s efforts up front being a big reason for that.
