California Signal Caller Bear Bachmeier "Super Excited" For Notre Dame Visit

In this story:
Notre Dame is expecting a big visit during their matchup against Central Michigan this weekend from 2025 Murrieta (Calif.) Valley star quarterback Bear Bachmeier. This will be Bachmeier’s second visit to campus, the first since he came with his brother Tiger Bachmeier a couple years ago.
Coming into the visit, Bachmeier is very high on the Irish. He has high expectations for what this visit could bring.
“I’m super excited for the visit,” Bachmeier said. “I want to see the whole South Bend experience and meet the whole staff in person. It’s going to be great.”
A big reason why Notre Dame has gained so much traction with the California native is the authenticity they have shown. The staff has made him feel like an absolute priority.
“The relationships have been developing great,” Bachmeier explained. “I talk to the coaches weekly and am developing great relationships. Coach (Gino) Guidugli especially has been great to get to know.”
Overall, Bachmeier completely understands how special of a place Notre Dame is. He understands the magnitude, which he owes to his family.
“Notre Dame is just a really great place to be, both athletically and academically,” he explained. “Obviously I know the historical value Notre Dame holds, since my Grandpa was a die hard. It just brings everything to the table that you need.
Heading into the visit, Bachmeier doesn’t have a firm timeline to make a decision. That is something he’s still working out.
“I’m not entirely sure,” he said. “I’m still working everything out as far as timelines.”
Whether that timeline figures itself out soon or not, Notre Dame remains in a very good position for Bachmeier. They have a chance to distance themselves with a big visit.
Bachmeier is well thought of from a recruiting ranking perspective. He currently sits as a consensus four-star on every major recruiting platform. On3 currently sees him the highest, pegged as the No.102 overall player and No. 9 quarterback in the 2025 recruiting class.
The 6-2, 205-pound signal caller was a dominant football player as a sophomore. As the team’s starting quarterback, Bachmeier threw for 2,853 yards and 26 touchdowns. He completed an absurd 73 percent of his passes and only threw four interceptions on the season.
As a runner, Bachmeier was equally as dangerous. He rushed for 644 and 18 touchdowns, doing so on just 47 carries. That is an insane 13.7 yards per carry.
So far as a junior, Bachmeier has completed 62 of 94 attempts for 817 yards and five touchdowns in three games. He is also averaging 6.9 yards per carry so far.
Bachmeier comes from a football family. Aside from his brother Tiger, he is also the younger brother of former Boise State quarterback Hank Bachmeier.
