Notre Dame Commits Continue Strong Play In Week Nine

Even with Notre Dame on a bye week, the excitement around the program is at an all time high. A big reason for that is what the Irish staff is accomplishing on the recruiting trail.
Over the last couple of days, Irish commits were in action and put together tremendous performances. Here were the top performances to know from this week.
QB CJ CARR, SALINE (Mich.) HIGH SCHOOL
RESULT: Lake Orion 35, Saline 28
Saline suffered their first loss on Friday, losing 35-28 to Lake Orion. Carr put together a solid performance in the defeat, throwing for 265 yards and a touchdown on the night. He had a slow second half, throwing for 228 in the opening half.

QB DEUCE KNIGHT (2025), LUCEDALE (Miss.) GEORGE COUNTY
RESULT: George County 54, West Harrison 19
Knight scored five total touchdowns during the team’s dominant 54-19 victory over West Harrison. The Mississippi native has been playing high level football over the last three weeks, showcasing that big time dual threat talent.

RB ANEYAS WILLIAMS, HANNIBAL (Mo.) HIGH SCHOOL
RESULT: Hannibal 42, Battle/Columbia Independent 7
Williams added to his illustrious career on Friday, scoring two more touchdowns during the team’s 42-7 victory. He now has 129 total touchdowns during his career.

RB KEDREN YOUNG, LUFKIN (Texas) HIGH SCHOOL
RESULT: Tyler 23, Lufkin 20
It was a tough 23-20 loss for Lufkin, who was led again by Young in the backfield. The senior rushed for 138 yards and two touchdowns on 20 carries during the contest. Young is now just 24 yards away from being the Lufkin all time leading rusher.

RB JUSTIN THURMAN (2025), TAMPA BAY (Fla.) JESUIT
RESULT: Jesuit 35, Tampa Bay Tech 28
Jesuit handed Tampa Bay Tech their first loss of the season on Friday, winning 35-28. For the second straight game, Thurman has scored three touchdowns. He has now scored nine touchdowns in the last four games after a slow start to the season.

WR MICAH GILBERT, CHARLOTTE (N.C.) CHRISTIAN
RESULT: Charlotte Christian 43, Charlotte Latin 0
Gilbert continued his incredibly impressive senior year on Friday. He hauled in four receptions for 104 yards and a touchdown. That included an 81 yard gain for his lone score.
WR LOGAN SALDATE, SALINAS (Calif.) PALMA
RESULT: Soquel 14, Palma 7
Saldate had the attention of Soquel. He was the player they most wanted to stop. They were able to limit Saldate to just 48 yards on six receptions during the game.
TE JACK LARSEN, CHARLOTTE (N.C.) CATHOLIC
RESULT: Charlotte Catholic 42, East Mecklenburg 0
Larsen hauled in two more touchdowns during the team’s 42-0 victory over East Mecklenburg on Friday. He now has 11 touchdown receptions on the season, an outstanding number for the senior. That was the final game of the season, ending with a 7-3 overall record.
OT GUERBY LAMBERT, WEST ROXBURY (Mass.) CATHOLIC MEMORIAL
RESULT: St. John’s Prep 19, Catholic Memorial
Catholic Memorial came out on the wrong end of the scoreboard this week, losing to St. John’s Prep 19-8. That was the second loss of the season for the Knights, who will look to get back on track next week against Malden Catholic (2-5) at home.
OL PETER JONES, MALVERN (Pa.) PREP
RESULT: Malvern Prep 24, Haverford School 6
Jones and his talented Malvern Prep squad continued their winning ways, pushing their record to 6-1 after a decisive 24-6 victory over Haverford School this week. On Friday, they will travel to take on William Penn Charter (3-4).
DE BRYCE YOUNG, CHARLOTTE (N.C.) CHRISTIAN
RESULT: Charlotte Christian 43, Charlotte Latin 0
It was a little bit of a quiet night for Young, whose impact wasn’t needed much during the 43-0 dominant victory over Charlotte Latin. Young recorded two total tackles and two quarterback hurries on the night. He also hauled in one reception for five yards while playing tight end.
DE LOGHAN THOMAS, LAKEWOOD (Ohio) ST. EDWARD
RESULT: St. Edward 14, Archbishop Hoban 7
After surrendering a first quarter touchdown, the St. Edward's defense stood tall and kept Archbishop Hoban scoreless the rest of the night. Marcus Freeman and Al Washington were in attendance to see Thomas ball out.

DE CJ MAY (2025), HIGHLAND HOME (Al.) HIGH SCHOOL
RESULT: Highland Home 41, LaFayette 0
May was dominant in the opportunities he had. During Highland Home’s 41-0 victory on Friday, the talented pass rusher ended the day with one solo tackle and a sack. He also had another three quarterback hurries on the day.

DT SEAN SEVILLANO, CLEARWATER ACADEMY INTERNATIONAL
RESULT: Clearwater Academy 35, Lakeland 34
Sevillano was once again a playmaker for Clearwater Academy during the team’s 35-34 win over Lakeland. The senior standout recorded 10 total tackles, six tackles for loss and two sacks. On the season, Sevillano has recorded 49 tackles for loss and 11 sacks.
LB KYNGSTONN VILIAMU-ASA, BELLFLOWER (Calif.) ST. JOHN BOSCO
RESULT: St. John Bosco 42, JSerra Catholic 20
St. John Bosco ruined JSerra’s senior day, coming out with a 42-20 victory on Friday. The defense gave up just 103 total yards on the night, led by Viliamu-Asa.
LB BODIE KAHOUN, ROANOKE (Va.) PATRICK HENRY
RESULT: Patrick Henry 30, Christiansburg 21
It was a comeback victory for Patrick Henry, who was down 23-21 late in the second half. Patrick Henry now sits at 7-1 on the season, boasting high expectations once playoff season comes around.
CB KARSON HOBBS, CINCINNATI (Ohio) ARCHBISHOP MOELLER
RESULT: Archbishop Moeller 38, King 6
Archbishop Moeller traveled to take on King, who is typically a very strong team in Detroit, Michigan. This was the fourth time this season that the Crusaders have kept an opponent to single digit points.
S TAEBRON BENNIE-POWELL, WEST CHESTER (Ohio) LAKOTA WEST
RESULT: Lakota West 42, Hamilton 14
Lakota West stayed hot on Friday, defeating Hamilton 42-14. That was their eight straight victory after starting the year 0-2. The defense has been the main catalyst for the Firebird success, allowing just 7.7 points per contest this season.
