Notre Dame Is Doing Their Homework On Safety Nicholas Reddish
The Notre Dame coaches have been scouring the country over the last couple of weeks, visiting the schools of several top 2025, 2026 and 2027 recruits. That includes stopping in Charlotte (N.C.) Independence, who has an incredibly impressive 2026 safety Nicholas Reddish.
Chris O’Leary was the one who made the trip, checking in on one of the more versatile defensive backs in North Carolina for the 2026 class. Reddish has a nice early opinion of the Irish, who made a good impression during this recent visit.
"They came by .... the other day,” Reddish told Irish Breakdown. "They had the chance to sit down with my coaches and get to know me a little bit. It sounded like it went well.
"It was great to be able to see the coaches and just learn more about the program,” he continued. "I’ll probably be going up there for a camp in the summer.”
An offer has not been extended yet but if he impresses on campus, it wouldn’t be surprising if Reddish was added to the board at some point. It’s important to create a great relationship with him, which was started recently.
"Coach O’Leary seems like a great guy,” Reddish said. "I’m excited to be able to get to know him more moving forward.”
Reddish put together a fantastic sophomore campaign for the Independence Patriots. He finished the year with 95 total tackles, four interceptions and 10 pass breakups. Reddish also recorded three tackles for loss, two forced fumbles and four fumble recoveries.
The 5-11, 185-pound safety currently holds offers from Wake Forest, UConn, ECU and Charlotte. Judging by his play as a sophomore, that list should blow up quickly. Reddish is also a fantastic baseball player for Independence as well.
