Elite Quarterback Noah Grubbs Excited To Experience The Notre Dame Atmosphere

In this story:
It isn’t often that Notre Dame extends offers to freshmen but that was the case when 2026 Lake Mary (Fla.) High School signal caller Noah Grubbs camped in South Bend this summer. Now a sophomore, Grubbs is beginning to take his game to a whole other level and is already considered one of the top signal callers in the 2026 class.
Grubbs is making the return trip to campus this weekend when the Irish take on Ohio State. The Florida native has high expectations for this visit, both for his experiences leading up to game time and the on field result.

"I’m excited to experience the atmosphere at Notre Dame Stadium,” Grubbs told Irish Breakdown. "It should be the best I’d ever get to experience at Notre Dame with it being a Top 10 matchup so they are going to be able to show all of us recruits what it would feel like to play at Notre Dame in big games like this.
"Also, I’m excited to see the style of offense they are going to play because my decision will be what best suits my strengths to be successful,” he continued. "So I know with a game like this, Notre Dame will call its best game and hold nothing back so I’m excited to see how this offense performs.”
Being a 2026 recruit, communication is very limited. Notre Dame has still kept close tabs over the last few months. Both sides are excited to see each other this weekend.
"My contact with the Notre Dame coaches was mainly when I was at camp when Coach (Marcus) Freeman offered me in his office,” explained Grubbs. “Since I am a sophomore I have limited contact with all coaches so communication has all been through my quarterback trainer Baylin Trujillo and he speaks with Coach (Gino) Guidugli regularly and keeps him updated with what I’m doing this season. They are excited to be bringing us up this weekend.”
His age hasn’t stopped schools from showing their interest in Grubbs thus far. He’s an elite thrower of football, something every program wants.
"My recruitment lately has been great,” he said. "I’ve already taken four unofficial visits to Virginia Tech, UCF, Miami and Florida so far. I’m currently focused on the season but I stay in contact with some of the coaches that have offered me.
“Coach (Brian) Crist from Virginia Tech communicates with me the most and then Coach (Darin) Hinshaw from UCF and (Shannon) Dawson spends good time with me when I’m on my visits,” Grubbs added.
With Deuce Knight now committed in the 2025 recruiting class, Coach Guidugli can now start focusing on the 2026 crop. Grubbs looks to be on the short list early on.
Grubbs is beginning to gain a lot of traction on the recruiting trail. On top of his offer from Notre Dame, he has also been offered by Michigan, Miami, Penn State, Texas A&M, Virginia Tech, Pittsburgh, West Virginia, Duke and UCF among others.
The 6-4, 215-pound signal caller put together a standout freshman campaign in 2022. Grubbs led the team with 1,598 yards passing and 17 touchdowns. He was also careful with the football, only throwing six interceptions on the season.
Through three games as a sophomore, Grubbs has thrown for 1,144 yards and 17 touchdowns through the air. Grubbs has completed 64 percent of his passes, averaging 381.3 passing yards per game and only thrown three interceptions.
