Elite Tackle Owen Strebig Is Shifting His Focus To His Junior Season

In this story:
The off-season has been a hectic one for Waukesha (Wis.) Catholic Memorial offensive tackle Owen Strebig, who is one of the most talented offensive lineman in the 2025 recruiting class. Notre Dame is one of the many schools that are especially high on Strebig, hoping to add him to their class when it’s all said and done.
Obviously Strebig’s attention has been on recruiting a lot over the last few months. That, however, doesn’t overshadow the work he has been putting in to prepare for his junior campaign. That season has trumped making any commitments, instead letting the process figure itself out.
“I am blessed to be in the position I am,” Strebig told Irish Breakdown. “I’ve been handling everything pretty well so far. It’s definitely a lot to juggle but I’m really just fortunate to be where I am. It’s really just a part of the recruiting process. I’m just focused on being the best high school player that I can be this year.
“I have no plan on committing early,” he continued. “I really want to enjoy the recruiting process, taking multiple officials and deciding from there. Right now, the priority is my junior season.”
While the Waukesha program ended with just a 5-6 record in 2022, there are big expectations this season. Strebig shares those expectations.
“We have high expectations as a team this year,” Strebig explained. “We kick off our season on Friday against Hartford. We want to be conference champions, make the playoffs and have a chance in Game 14. That’s the goal, win it all.”
A big reason for those expectations is the work Strebig has been putting in over the last several months. Behind the scenes, he has been focusing on being the best version of himself on the field.
“I’ve really been working my butt off this off-season,” he said. “Obviously we have a lot of big goals, and it starts with being the best player I can be. I’m excited to see the result of all that hard work.”
The 6-8, 290-pound offensive tackle has received offers from the Fighting Irish, Michigan, USC, Florida, Penn State, Florida State, UCLA, Stanford, Wisconsin, Michigan State, Nebraska, Kentucky, Iowa, Illinois, Minnesota, Purdue, Kansas and Indiana among others. Strebig is quickly becoming one of the elite level offensive lineman in the 2025 class.
Strebig is considered a four-star recruit across every major recruiting ranking. He currently sits as the No. 40 overall player and the No. 5 offensive tackle in the 2025 recruiting class according to On3 ranking.
