Elite Tight End Linkon Cure Has Major Interest In Notre Dame

Star 2025 tight end Linkon Cure updates his recruitment and relationship with Notre Dame

Notre Dame got a great early commitment from 2025 Green Bay (Wisc.) Notre Dame Academy tight end James Flanigan, who is an Irish legacy and outstanding football player overall. With Flanigan in the class, Notre Dame is still interested in added a second tight end to the 2025 recruiting class.

One player that the Irish have kept tabs on is elite Goodland (Kan.) High School tight end Linkon Cure, who is arguably the biggest riser of the class at the position. After a dominant junior campaign, Cure has been extremely busy from the recruiting side. He has heard from a lot of schools but there seems to be a slight break in that attention.

"It’s been more calm than usual. I’ve had a lot of coaches come to the school, which is really special,” Cure told Irish Breakdown. "I haven’t had anything scheduled yet for the off-season yet but will see what happens.”

There also hasn’t been a ton of communication with the Irish recently, but here is an expectation that it could change soon. Despite that break in communication, Notre Dame has made a great early impression and looks to have some stay power in this particular recruitment.

"I haven’t had too much contact with Notre Dame lately,” Cure explained. "My relationship with the staff is really impressive. We get along very well and my family really likes them.

"I am narrowing it down to a top ten pretty soon and I think Notre Dame will be in it,” he added.

Among his top schools, there are three teams that stand out. If Notre Dame makes a strong push, however, they could quickly catapult to the top of the board.

"Kansas State, Oregon, and Penn State are some of my top schools right now,” he said. "I can see Notre Dame being there too moving forward without a doubt.”

In nine games as a junior, Cure put together a tremendous season. He hauled in 42 receptions for 946 yards and 14 touchdowns. That is an average of 22.5 yards per reception, especially impressive considering Cure was dealing with a hamstring injury throughout the season.

The 6-6, 220-pound tight end has seen a big rise on the recruiting trail over the last few months. Cure is considered a consensus four-star recruit by every major recruiting platform. 247Sports ranks Cure the highest, sitting as the No. 38 overall player and No. 2 tight end in the 2025 recruiting class.

Some of the premier programs in all of college football have been counting Cure recently. His top offers currently include the Irish, Michigan, Oklahoma, Florida, Penn State, Oregon, Auburn, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Nebraska, Oklahoma State, Iowa, Kansas State, Missouri, Wisconsin, Iowa State, Purdue, Kansas and Vanderbilt among others.
