Fast Rising Tight End Linkon Cure Set For Notre Dame Visit

There is an expectation that the tight end board could expand for Notre Dame in the 2025 recruiting class with the push for two tight ends. One name I keep a close eye on is Goodland (Kan.) High School star Linkon Cure, who is set to make his first visit to campus this weekend for the USC game.

While Cure does not currently hold an offer from the Irish yet, there has been increased contact between the two sides over the last few weeks. That has allowed for the relationship to begin to really develop between Notre Dame and Cure, leading into a very important visit.

"Recruiting has been very busy but I am really enjoying the process because it is a dream come true,” Cure told Irish Breakdown. "The relationships have been developing well as we FaceTime every week.

"My expectations are very high off of the things I’ve heard about Notre Dame,” he added. "I’m hoping to see how they utilize their tight ends and how I can see myself in their offense.”

Notre Dame has developed the tight end position as good as anyone historically. It is a really easy sell for any prospective tight end recruit.

"They have talked mostly about how well they use their tight ends and how great of a school they are,” Cure explained. "My opinion on their program is very high off of what I’ve watched and heard.”

If an offer does get extended this weekend, Notre Dame does seem to already be trending into a strong position. As for what Cure is looking for, it’s pretty simple.

"I’m simply looking for what’s best for me and my family,” he said.

A fast riser on the recruiting trail, 247Sports ranks Cure as the No. 19 tight end in the 2025 recruiting class. That ranking also has him pegged as the No. 5 player in the state of Kansas.

Cure’s offer list has been steadily increasing over the last couple of months. Some of his top offers to date include Michigan, Florida, Penn State, Texas A&M, Oregon, Auburn, Nebraska, Oklahoma State, Wisconsin, Iowa, Kansas State, Missouri, Iowa State, Kansas, Illinois, Purdue and Vanderbilt among others.

In six games as a junior, Cure has been absolutely dominant through the air. He has hauled in 30 receptions for 738 yards and 10 touchdowns so far, averaging an absurd 24.6 yards per reception. Cure also returns kicks and plays defense for the Cowboys.
