Florida Pass Catcher Koby Howard Set For Long Awaited Notre Dame Return

In this story:
For the first time in over a calendar year, 2025 Davie (Fla.) Western star wide receiver Koby Howard will be making the trip back to South Bend. He is heading to campus this weekend to see Notre Dame take on USC.
Howard’s whole sophomore season was unfortunately lost after suffering a catastrophic knee injury, which cost him some valuable time from the recruiting perspective. Notre Dame and the talented pass catcher are making up for some lost time.
"Just talking to the coaches and seeing Notre Dame again is what I’m most looking forward to,” Howard told Irish Breakdown. "I also want to see a great game on Saturday. USC and Notre Dame are both really good teams so I know they are going to put on a show.
"Talking to Coach (Chansi) Stuckey recently, he made me aware that freshmen are going to get a chance to play,” he added. "Obviously they have a bunch contributing this year which is great to see.”
He now waits anxiously for the weekend to begin. With Howard having already been on campus once before, he understands a lot of what to expect. Despite that, he is incredibly excited to get back.
"I’m really excited to get back on campus,” he said. "I haven’t been there in over a year so it’s going to be really cool to see everything again.”
So far this season, Howard has looked tremendous when on the field. It shouldn’t be any surprise that the recruiting attention has become to pick back up again.
Recruiting has really been picking up since August 1st. It’s been great to really get to know all of the coaches more and have more contact overall.
Everyday I’m waking up to texts from multiple coaches. I’m hearing a lot from Tennessee, LSU, Florida State, Florida, Miami, Penn State and Colorado right now.
Whether Notre Dame makes a strong push will be interesting. It could all start this weekend.
Howard is considered a four-star recruit according to the On3 Industry ranking. He is currently pegged as the No. 287 overall player and No. 44 wide receiver in the 2025 recruiting class.
Some impressive schools have already extended offers to Howard. Some of the premier ones include Notre Dame, Georgia, LSU, Florida, Miami, Tennessee, Florida State, Penn State, Texas A&M, Auburn, Arkansas, Kentucky, Pittsburgh, Colorado, Ole Miss, Mississippi State and Georgia Tech among others.
A preseason injury cost Howard his entire sophomore season. That was especially a bummer after coming off a standout freshman campaign, hauling in 70 receptions for 808 yards and eight touchdowns. Howard also was involved on special teams as a punt and kick returner for the team.
Howard has played in two games as a junior so far, collecting 17 receptions for 306 yards and two touchdowns. That includes a seven-catch, 120-yard and one touchdown performance against American Heritage this past week.
