Offensive Lineman Michael Roeske Had A Blast During Return Visit To Notre Dame

In this story:
Despite a disappointing 17-14 narrow loss to Ohio State on Saturday, Notre Dame still put together a tremendous recruiting weekend. For the second time, 2025 Wautoma (Wis.) High School offensive tackle Michael Roeske made the trip to South Bend and has a chance to experience his first game day.
It was one to remember for Roeske.
"The visit went great,” Roeske told Irish Breakdown. "I had a blast being back down in South Bend. The experience was a once in a lifetime with being at game day in the morning. The energy continued into the night with kickoff. Unfortunately we did lose but the experience was amazing.”
Roeske also had the chance to see the Notre Dame coaches again, which was another great part of the trip. They quickly established just got vital the Wisconsin native could be for the future of Irish football.
"Being back around the coaches was amazing,” he explained. "It was great reconnecting with Coach (Marcus) Freeman and Coach (Joe) Rudolph. We talked about what to expect from Notre Dame in the next couple years and what I could contribute to.”
Unfortunately Roeske’s season was cut short after suffering a knee injury a few games ago. Both sides spent some time talking about the injury, which they are excited to see how strong Roeske comes back from.
"Then of course we talked about my right leg and how it's just a bump in the road and to put the work in and come back better than ever,” he said. "Overall it was great just getting back down around them. And of course seeing one of my favorite recruiters, Caleb Davis.”
Roeske has the chance to bring his father and uncle to campus with him. Both also had a great time, especially his uncle who is a Notre Dame fan.
"Well my uncle is a huge Notre Dame fan so I had to bring him down with me,”Roeske said. "He loved the experience and just enjoying a game day like we did with seeing game day and walking around campus and then watching the team warm up in person on the field. He was very happy when Coach Freeman came over to talk.
"My dad was very impressed with the facilities of Notre Dame and just the atmosphere in the stadium throughout the game,” he added.
Even with Roeske fighting back from injury, Notre Dame has not shied away from their interest. Heading into the visit, Notre Dame and Wisconsin had separated themselves with Roeske. Leaving the trip, they continue to show the talented offensive tackle why they are such a special place and potential fit.
The 6-7, 280-pound offensive lineman has been securing the attention of several notable programs so far. Some of Roeske’s top offers so far include the Fighting Irish, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Syracuse, Kansas and Indiana.
Roeske is currently rated as a four-star recruit on the On3 Industry ranking. The Wisconsin native is currently pegged as the No. 315 overall player and No. 25 offensive tackle in the 2025 recruiting class on that ranking. They have him rated as the No. 3 player in the state of Wisconsin.
